Get Home Safe Personalized Plaque

Paul was a Korean War Navy Veteran who survived that ordeal to come home and raise
8 children. Anyone who knew the man knew that he always said “Get Home Safe” to all in
lieu of good-bye. This is an oft used phrase by veterans. Paul passed away this year and
one of his many children asked me to make a plaque remembering their father. I incorporated
a compass dial so that they could always find their way home. A simple and powerful plaque
that so well conveys the goal of intensely personal gifts. I was attending the graduation
commencement at Indiana University School of Law when I received an order for 9 identical
plaques. This is a lovely cherry plaque and those who know what it means know. My customer
stated:

“Only opened one and you are an artist my friend. It was a work of art! Thanks again,
I can’t tell you how perfect of a gift it is to remember a simple man who gave his kids
and wife everything and asked for nothing. You made many people cry tears of joy and sorrow
with your Get Home Safe plaques.”
