Personalized Wood Boxes

Every box project is special. Every box is unique. There is an enormity of detail in these pieces.
They start as a thick piece (Flitch) of lumber and the lumber is carefully selected and sawn so the
grain wraps around the box. The bottom and top come from the same lumber and are very carefully fitted.
I hate to see them go when they are finished.

My boxes are not only fine examples of craftsmanship and wonderful heirlooms; they also convey my
sense of woodworking. The box at first glance looks like a simple enough piece of work but on closer
examination I hope you will notice the tight fit and the careful grain match. Notice the tiny joinery
and the fact that the bottom is as nice as the top.

This combined with personal customization makes these quite wonderful. I like making boxes. I always
have. They do take a bit of time but like so many fine and wonderful things; they should take time.
