Personalized Vast Sea Coast Guard Plaque

For quite awhile I have wanted to do 3 dimensional carvings. I had played with idea
and made a few test runs but was not quite satisfied with the results. I found a
company called Gantry who make graphics files for laser carving. I was anxious to give
these a try. A young man in the Coast Guard who wanted the saying “O Lord thy sea is
so vast and my boat is so small” contacted me. He wanted the seal of the United States
Coast Guard. I asked if I could experiment and see if we could come up with a new seal
that was extraordinary. I really like doing extra special things for the young people
in our service. I always try to use extra care and select nice wood. After all, these
are the folks who jump from helicopters into raging seas! The seal is amazing. You can
actually feel the texture in the rope and see the bolt heads in the anchor. It is an
honor for me to be able to make something special for those young men and women who
protect us.
